We are seeking a Software Architect and Engineering Lead with a strong background in software development to take ownership of our engineering team and shape the software and AI architecture across our platform. You will play a key role in evolving both our microservice-based systems and our agentic AI platform, ensuring scalability, robustness, and innovation.

As Engineering Lead, you are responsible for the software development team, guiding developers, setting technical direction, and collaborating closely with the CTO to shape how the engineering department works. You will define the software and system architecture as well as the AI framework that powers our agentic platform, and act as the bridge between product and technical teams to ensure we build scalable, future-proof solutions.

You bring a hands-on mindset: you don't just delegate problems, you dive in, identify root causes, and resolve them alongside your team. You think in solutions rather than obstacles, turning ambiguity into clear, actionable paths forward. Above all, you take full ownership, of the team's output, the architectural decisions, and the long-term health of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the company’s software and AI architecture
• Evolve our microservice architectures and ensure interoperability across services
• Develop architectural standards for API design, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
• Architect and optimize data systems across PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, and other databases
• Design and implement AI agent architectures and workflows making our platform ready for the future by developing an architecture build on MCP protocol
• Define and coach the team in agentic software development
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders and leadership to align technology vision with business strategy
• Ensure security, quality assurance, and performance across all systems
• Lead and mentor engineering teams to follow architectural principles and best practices

Working environment

• 100% office-based. This is an on-site role; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
• Travel requirement (Venlo applicants): If you are applying from our Venlo office, you should be willing to spend approximately 50% of your time travelling to and working from our Cluj office.

What we are looking for

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in software, system and AI architecture.
• Strong understanding of microservices, CI/CD, and cloud technologies (AWS).
• Proficiency in Python, API development, data structures, and databases (postgresql, elasticsearch).
• Experience with AI architecture design, AI agents, and Generative AI systems.
• Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) preferred.
• Proven experience with agentic software development
• Familiarity with UML and architectural documentation.
